Hi -- how do you tell the difference between the above three things? I get episodes of tachycardia out of the blue, but it happens when I'm lying down and when I'm upright, there seems to be no correlation between the two. It bugs me because I haven't had this symptoms in a long while.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
is the same as Tachycardia.
This usually this happens when standing but can occur when sitting also.

Neurally mediated hypotension (NMH) is a drop in blood pressure.

DO a lymenet search for (NMH).

I've had this for 6 years.

Have you had a Tilt Table Test done ??
