I've been on abx (Mino) for just under 2 weeks. The past couple of days I've been feeling very lousy.
This evening I've come to the conclusion that I *think* I'm coming down with a cold or something. (It's honestly kind of hard to tell with the other symptoms, if that makes any sense.)
I was just wondering if there is anything different about having a cold with Lyme disease? Or is a cold just a cold?
Thanks, and sorry if this is silly. Posts: 455 | From Was in PA, then MD, now in the Midwest | Registered: Nov 2008

Wonko,
If I recall you were feling better on abx when you first started not long ago. Now you're not.
Do you know if you have herxed yet? Sounds like that is what you might be experiencing.

I started abx on a Monday the 8th. I had steady improvement that week, which peaked on Friday.
Then I got sick again, that Sat. I was fatigued and couldn't recite my own phone number.
It's been a bit up and down since then, but since Thurs or Fri I've been all down.
My partner has a cold, so I think that may be contributing, but it is hard to say.

Its possible, I just got over one. Lasted a week. I felt it coming on before then. Good luck.
Some echinacea I think helped.

Wonko,
With all of my herxes, in the beginning I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. More thn likely it's just a herx!

Sounds normal lymie-like to me.
For many people, the symptoms come and go. One day can be good, another day can be bad. Or even a week can be so-so and the next week awful. That's how it's been for me for a very long time. That's just how lyme is, for many, unfortunately.
Of course some people rarely have good days, so those of us who have good and bad days are pretty lucky, even though I know it doesn't feel that way when we're having a bad day.

Yes, upon reviewing all of the evidence, I don't think it is a cold. Sheesh, I guess I really don't know myself and how I'm reacting to things yet.
Most days last week I was exercising upwards of an hour a day. Today, I'm trying to decide if I want to do laundry OR wrap presents, cause I know I can't do both.
I can (and will try to better) appreciate that I do have the better days mixed in. I think I have a ways to go with getting used to this "dr jekyll, mr hyde" duality.
This crazy disease is messing with me almost as much emotionally as it is physically lately!
Thanks for the replies and help in sorting this out. Posts: 455 | From Was in PA, then MD, now in the Midwest | Registered: Nov 2008
