I had an appt with my GP yesterday for some enzyme tests that my LLMD wouldn't do.

A little background.. This was the same GP I had

had since childhood and he had seen/tested me

for several complications of Lyme. He didn't

diagnose me - he did a wetsern blot - a false

negative. So, I went many many years with no Dx.

I think my parents and siblings have this stuff

also- we share the same GP. The GP laughed at my

mom only 3 months ago when she mentioned Lyme.

About a month or two ago, I went to see if he

would draw blood for Igenex and we had quite

lenghty discussion on my Dx and my husbands and

childrens possible Lyme. I left it at that and

went to another LLMD instead.

BUT YESTERDAY, he asked for Lyme info - anything

the LLMD would supply- he was quite interested.

I almost cried right there! I felt justified in

all of the talking and claims that something was

wrong with me. I'm estatic for all the people he

might be able to help! So anyways there it is.

That sounds great.

But such an extreme about-face makes me suspicious of his motivations.

Good job of getting him interested.

I do think that some physicians might reconsider when they read about the IDSA conflicts of interest. It casts a shadow of doubt on the current IDSA "widsom" regarding lyme disease.

Consider putting him in touch with ILADS.
http://www.ilads.org/

That would be the best place for a physician to get an introduction to lyme. They also have physician training programs if he decides to go further.

I hope he's sincere. That would be WONDERFUL!! [Smile]

Get him a copy of Dr C's Western Blot Explanation. Print it out and hand it to him. He'll love it.

Thanks for the references. He is a friend of the family, so I am sure of his sincerity.

Glad you could turn a negative into a positive! Good for you!!!

Keep it up.. and I do agree with TerryK...

Ship him to ILADS for doctor to doctor help.

You might even give him a copy of the ILADS guidelines to review. That says a lot... and is excellent as a teaching tool.

Just print off a copy from the internet... which is ok as long as you don't sell it and ONLY use it as an educational tool.
