good article and my reply ....

I would love to see that CHRONIC LYME DISEASE AND VECTOR-BORNE illnesses be added to your list of chronic diseases! Both are well-kept secrets and shove under the rug.

USA HAS A LYME EPIDEMIC that no one talks about except us lyme patients!

There are probably 1 million people who have tested positive with enough protein lyme bands to have met CDC'S CRITERIA TO BE COUNTED AND SHOWN ON STATISTICAL MAPS!

There are probably another million who didn't have enough bands but were POSITIVE on several numbers w/lyme and/or co-infections but NOT COUNTED in national statistics.

Since you are having a Feb. conference, I'd like to see you address LYME ALTERNATIVES too since we are in a LYME WAR CONTROVERSY:

ILADS, Intl. Lyme Associated Disease Society, our LLMDS/lyme literate mds vs. IDSA, Infectious Disease Society of America/infectious disease drs. who UNDERTREAT LESS THAN 3 WKS. OF ANTIBIOTICS and do NOT believe in chronic lyme disease, which the patients become since they were undertreated with not strong enough meds and LONG enough to kill off all the spirochete in your body.

We want to see and hear Pres. Obama addressing our lyme concerns especially since majority of us pay OUT OF POCKET FOR all appts., treatments, meds, tests, etc.

Lyme disease and/or co-infections are a very EXPENSIVE DISEASE TO HAVE and costs lyme patients to lose their jobs, health insurance, marriage/custody of kids, homes, bankruptcy, and become homeless!

Lyme disease needs to be addresed in the military as they are STUCK with infectious drs. and do NOT RECEIVE REQUIRED TREATMENTS/OPTIONS THAT LYME LITERATE MDS OFFER! Military needs to let them go to our LLMDS as necessry and not make them sicker by their being stuck with infectious drs. ONLY!

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing what is discussed in your Feb. 09 conference! [Smile]

Potentially good, not surprising, but quite against the interests of the corporate dictatorship; hence the henchmen it has left in the government will do their best to sabotage; to make the program inflexible, infuse it with extra expense and incompetent bureaucrats, planning to say, "See-- we need to ...'privatize'... it, "to give incentive for efficiency" (and discrimination, of course...). Long-time criminals don't roll over and give up without some kind of insidious ....brainstorming'... toward figuring out how to 'maximize their profit' (translation: screw the people who are sick, and of course figure out a way to blame them for their illness, so they can "stay sick and turn blue"..., while those criminals, uh, perhaps, "stay rich and turn green"..)

I hope I'm totally off the mark in this fear, of course! But, realizing that human beings poserss the ten worlds, including hunger, animality, and anger, I advocate watchfulness on everybody's part, and caution that, we've just begun to fight; we can't count on anything wothwhile coming too easily!

Here's to the future- time to ZEE OUT, for the moment....
