I started Biaxin last Sat - I took the pill and

went to bed. In the morning, I noticed little

scratches on my left side and I immediately

thought "Did I scratch myself?". I went to

church and while sitting there I could feel

weird tingling sensations. At that point I don't

if it was really happening or my imagination. I

looked at them when I got home and they had

doubled in length. From what I read, it looks
like Bartonella.

So all week I have been having weird little

relapses. No big deal. Today I developed another

type of rash(red spots) on the underside of my

arms, torso and backside. It's nothing major,
but it is noticeable.

Is this an allergic reaction to Biaxin or the
buggers not liking the meds?

Any thoughts. I know they are only opinions, but
I do appreciate any experiences or insight.

My LLMD said the red rash I get on my back and arms is bartonella. Sometimes on my back I get scratch-like lines that look like I clawed myself with my finger nails.

I only had my initial visit last week and his diagnosis was strictly clinical. We are awaiting my lab results from Igenex.

He has only advised me to take supplements at this point and a few days after I started them my rash got noticeably worse so I thought it was a herx of some sort.

Not sure if yours is a herx or a reaction to Biaxin, but thought I'd share anyway.

Thanks Leelee, I was curious about the different rashes. Nothing surprises me anymore with this disease!

We are leaving to go to the Dr's for the kids, we'll see what he says. I'm glad I had this breakout before we left- my test resulte aren't so clear!

Good luck, C3mom. I hope you and your children heal soon and well.

I took pictures of my back and right arm and sent them to my LLMD. Although my back had a rash on it when I saw him, it was nothing like it was after a few days on Samento. My arm didn't have anything when I was at his office.

Anyway, I just wanted those photos in my file in case they could help with my diagnosis or treatment down the line.

Best of luck at the doctor's.

Leelee
