Our LLMD has recommended Artemisinin for my three year old, in a 200mg per day dose. Any recommendations on brand or where to get it?
I emailed Dr. Zhang and he recommended a product called Artemisia Capsule. There are so many out there it's a bit confusing and hard to decipher.

I don't know whether or not it would be smart to give to a three year old, but I do know it is possible to have very extreme reactions to it just like any strong antibiotics.
I couldn't tolerate even 1/10 of a capsule of 100 mg. With a three year old being so much smaller they could have a much much stronger and very dangerous reaction. You need to very throughly research this and if you do it certainly don't start at a full capsule.

Thank you for your replies. It's very hard to know what is the "right" or best thing to do for him. He's handling treatment on Biaxin, Metrodonizol (2wks on/2wks off), Rifampin, and Mepron very well.
He was infected 5/08 with Lyme and Babesia, and the doctor suspects Bart too but we didn't send lab work to Igenex to confirm that one. He's been on the Rifampin and Metrodonizol for about three months and the others for longer.
He also took Omnicef for a five or six months too. He was doing really well in October but slid in Nov-Feb, but has picked back up since March, although he may have slid a little in the past week or two.
I think the doctor just wants to hit it from a different angle, but now I'm concerned about adding the herb.
