I have a second job to pay my medical bills where sometimes I will sit in the hospital to monitor patients who wander or fall. Anyway, over the weekend, I was sitting in the hall on the transitional care unit which is the unit for patients who are transitioning from the hospital to somewhere else possibly a nursing home. Anyway, outside one of the rooms there was a list of diseases and precautions for the nurses to take such as gloves, masks, etc. Well, you will never guess what was up there. That's right: Lyme disease. It said no special precautions were necessary just like HIV because Lyme does not disseminate through the air. The only precautions for nurses is gloves for bodily fluids just like everybody else. The surprising part was that it was on the wall at all. Who'd of thunk it?
