If I am to purchase Artemesinin does it make a difference if I get it from Dr. Z or a compounding pharmacy?
Price wise or quality? Anyone know. Thanks.

They are all Artemesia annua aka Sweet Wormwood. You just have different marketing names. You can get it from Allergy Research Group. It comes in 200mg and & 500mg capsules.
I know Dr. Zhang's line is very good but couldn't tell you if one is better than the other. I never took his artemesia, always took Allergy Research Group but I'm sure others can.

Wrong...Artemisinin is the active derivative from the Artemisia Annua L.
Artemisinin is the active ingredient found in sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua L.). The medicinal value of the plant was first discovered more than 2,000 years ago in China where the plant has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. However, since Chinese scientists first isolated artemisinin in the early the 1970's, artemisinin and its derivatives have been best known and used as potent anti-malarial agents. Artemisinin is a chemical called a sesquiterpene lactone that contains an endoperoxide moiety, or internal double-oxygen bridge, which forms carbon-based free radicals when exposed to unbound ferrous iron. This reaction is selectively toxic to cells with uncontrolled or elevated free iron levels, such as cancer cells and the proliferating cells found in diverse conditions, including psoriasis, hyperplasia, and proliferative eye and kidney diseases.
Artemisinin is approved by the WHO for the treatment of Malaria, and it is ofetn prescribed by LLMD's as supportive treatment for Babesia.
True...Allergy Research Group makes one of the best Artemisinin products available.

For someone who has not taken this yet.. .would you suggest taking a bottle of the artemisia before trying the artemisinin?
how much more potent is it?
I recall seeing somewhere on a site where they had 2 pills of artemisinin and then showed like 20 pills or so of the artemisia and it said that you would have to take all the 20 pills to get the same amount. I am sure it was an ad or something and it was a while back and I just can not clearly remember.
maybe someone else knows for sure?
THANKS

springshowers,
I am not sure if this will help of not, but I see an herbalist and I purchase my herbal supplements from her.
The artemisia I have is in a tincture. I put drops in 4 oz. of water and there is only a slight taste.
The complete name of the product she prescribes for me is "artemisia leaf & flowering tops, hydroalcoholic extract.
I know next to nothing about herbs, but am trying to learn. I trust the person I go to as she used to have an office in the same practice as my LLMD.
