I have recently been getting that type of skin disorder on my left shoulder. They are big, hard and last forever on me. They also come in "patches". Mine don't really hurt so much as annoy me and make me feel ugly.
I have Bart and my LLMD thinks all my weird skin stuff is related to that.

A girl I know is in the hospital fighting for her life. She had an allergic reaction to antibiotics. The reaction is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. One of the symptoms is welts.

Hi c3mom,
Do they look like they could be hives? I agree in that it could be an allergic reaction. My sister got hives from Bactrim which lasted about a week (the doc had her on a lot of antihistimines and they finally went away).
I don't know for sure though, I would not take the next dose of meds until you are sure though.

Thanks for the replies - I was so nervous agin about the rashes. I've had them when I was on Biaxin.
I only got 3 welts-they turned into scratches. I don't think it's an allergic rxn. I think its bart and I had a rough nite-I feel like I have the flu. I think its all a herx.
The welts were about an inch long. There was no water underneath and now like I said before its a scratch type mark.
