What is the typical dose of Mepron for an adult?

And for kids?

And is it possible for Mepron to work against Babesia in a young child, without being combined with Zithromax?

I don't know what the Mepron dose for children is, but for adults it is typically 2-4 teaspoons daily.

The first time I treated Babesiosis, I took one teaspoon of Mepron twice daily for some time and then I increased it to one teaspoon three times daily.

I am treating Babeisosis now with a different doctor, and I take two teaspoons twice daily. I think this dose is more effective for adults.

It is my understanding that Mepron needs to be taken with Biaxin, Zithromax, or Ketek to work effectively.

My daughter took 2 tsp daily (750mg/tsp) as well, once in the am and once in the pm--12-years-old and barely weighs over 80 pounds. She did not take it alone. She was on Zithromax with it.

Wow, I never got over 1/2 tsp 2x daily. My old LLMD started me out at 1/4 tsp once a day and dosed up.

I am pretty sure most LLMDS treat Babesia with the combo of Mepron/Malarone along with Zithromax.

I haven't met one that hasn't......
