Does anyone know if there is a benefit to buying DMSA from say wellness pharmacy as opposed to any of the online sites Andy Cutler mentions. It cost four times as much from wellness pharmacy but for some reason my doctor uses it. Seems awfully shady to me.

It may have to with the source, any additives that may be in some brand, or with manufacturing practices. So, some doctors recommend places where they are certain about quality.

You might email the brand you are interested in and see what Culter (or whoever runs that website) thinks.

As I understand, the FDA has pulled DMSA and so it may not be available any longer or more difficult to obtain.

See like this site http://www.1to1vitamins.com/products/dmsa.html is one that Cutler recommends and it's $40.00 for 45 100mg capsules. Yet my doctor uses wellness pharmacy and it was $83.00 for 27 capsules.

Just so people know if there's not a difference (which it seems like there's not) then don't bother overpaying for DMSA from a compounding pharmacy, we're all poor as it is.
