There has been new legislation introduced before the U.S. House of Representatives:

Bill is HR 1179. It is called The Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases Prevention, Education, and Research Act of 2009. This bill was introduced Feb 25, 2009 so maybe information has already been posted here.

Please consider contacting your U.S. House Representative and State Senators. Instructions are below:

http://www.cwork.com/

To verify if your State Representative has signed on to support this bill, please reference the site below, and click on the blue link called Co-sponsors. So far 59 representatives have signed on to support. This list is updated as more sign support. It would be awesome if we could get the majority of representatives to sign on in each state. 4 have signed thus far in my state.

Please help spread the word of this legislation if you believe it will help Lyme sufferers.

Another U.S. House Representative signed on yesterday to support this legislation:

Rep Eshoo, Anna G. [CA-14] - 6/3/2009

One of the goals of this legislation, if passed, is to develop more accurate testing for Lyme and tick-borne illnesses. If your Rep is not on the list, will you email them with the link provided in original post.
