I know I am guilty of being more casual about my diet than I should, and I'm admitting so up front.

6+ months into treatment, I'm showing signs of yeast problems. I want to take this head on to prevent a larger problem, but I can't even express how difficult this will be for me.

Any advice for a reluctant newbie to the yeast diet?

A specific question I have is coffee. I've read it's on the forbidden list, but I'm wondering if that's universally accepted or if it can be ok?

I'm not sure how strictly I'll be able to adhere, but hope to make a solid effort that will improve my situation.

Thanks.

Are you taking Olive Leaf Extract? That helped me tremendously to avoid candida when I was on antibiotics (abx). Probiotics are vital, of course, but I also needed more and the OLE was just right and helpful in many ways, too.

You might be able to negotiate green or white tea but even that can be found in decaf, though.

Why the coffee? If for energy, adrenal supplements can helps. Coffee really depletes the adrenals and that can make recovery even more difficult.

An organic decaf coffee may work - if no chemicals are used in processing -that is why organic is best.

If treatment can be continued long term, then a remarkable degree of recovery is possible.

However, attention must be paid to all treatment modalities for such a recovery - not only antibiotics,

but rehab and exercise programs (non-aerobic, see p. 31,32)),

nutritional supplements,

enforced rest,

low carbohydrate, high fiber diets, attention to food sensitivities,

avoidance of stress,

** abstinence from caffeine and alcohol, **

and absolutely no immunosuppressants, even local doses of steroids (intra-articular injections, for example).

Invaluable:

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:

Thanks, Keebler.

I'm guilty of owning but not yet reading Singleton's book. I'll crack it open.

Between being worried over my ability to kick sugar and my dependence on coffee to get me to work, I'm feeling overwhelmed, but I'll try!
