If you feel like you are relapsing what would be a good choice:

1. Allow the body to fully relapse and start treatment again (as in the famous book, Cure Unknown)

or

2. Do what you can to suppress the lyme? (Meaning, to avoid a full blown case by taking herbals or abx)

If you choose No. 2, does that mean it will still lay dormant and surface again anyway?

I read in the book, the subjects allowed themselves to relapse 3 times, and then treat it hard each time, thereby finally getting to a permanent recovery. (or I guess remission)

Can anyone offer their opinions or experiences?

I believe Dr. B used this technique while employing Ceftin...

The effectiveness of such methods will likely depend on what is causing the major burden for the body. Co-infections and/or other pathogens throw a wrench into the works...

It's hard to predict with any certainty what techniques will stave off relapse...

For one thing, if your doctor is allowing you to relapse, that is not good.

Relapse is worsening of symptoms and documented blood test that show the infection has in fact become worse.

Lyme,

I think you have a good point. If it is say Bartonella, it could mean a different approach and a different outcome I suppose.

My LLMD is not involved.

I just thought I would throw this question out there in case someone had a similar situation where they were in remission and started to get a symptom or two.

Did they immediately seek abx or let the lyme/co's come back full force and then hit hard, as in the book Cure Unknown.

Thanks for the replies. [Smile]
