This afternoon, out of the blue, I got the absolute worst stomach pain I have ever had.
At first I thought it was just gas, because I could feel it mvoing around in my lower abdomen.
But then the pain just exploded and moved up into my chest and spread all over my abdomen.
I got down on the floor and could not get up.
All I could do was sit there and scream, when I'd move it hurt so bad.
I finally managed to crawl over tot he door and unlock it, and I told my son if it got any worse I'd send him to the neighbor for help.
It felt like the pain lasted for hours, but it was probably only 10 or 15 minutes.
Burping didn't help, and passing gas didn't seem to help either (sorry TMI).
I got really scared because my mom had an aortic aneurysm, and they said if she ever got severe chest pain it could mean it had burst and she'd probably die before she could get to the hospital.
No nausea beforehand, but since the pain subsided I've been slightly nauseated, and I didn't eat much for supper.
I had tuna for lunch (I did yesterday too, and nothing then), and my husband made a remark that maybe you can't eat tuna when you have Lyme (oh please). My son had the same lunch, and he's fine.
So what the heck? Was it just bad gas or something else?

No, she'd just tell me it was anxiety.
Haven't had any recurrences of pain, but I've been feeling nauseatd for the past day or so, so maybe it's a bug.

Did you happen to pass a lot of gas AFTER the pain subsided by any chance?
If so, what it may have been was an episode of one piece of your intestines moving into another piece. There is a name for this condition, and the pain is unbelievable.
I had it once. I just lay on the floor, could barely talk. You do feel things moving around in the abdomen.
It causes an intestinal blockage. Then, when the intestine moves back out of the other piece of intestine, all is well. The pain subsides because nothing is blocking your intestine any longer.
Then, you may pass some gas since none could pass while the intestine was blocked by itself.
If your episode was short, you may not have had much gas to pass at the end of the episode.
This occurrence is extremely painful, and even if you go to the ER, they usually can find nothing wrong and propose that this is probably what has happened.
It most often happens when the person has not eaten in a good while--empty intestines can do this telescoping easily.
I only had one episode in my life. But, I know a woman whose young son got it regularly for a number of months. They were always rushing to the ER with a screaming child and a mom going out of her mind during the entire thing.

Also be aware that tuna is a high mercury fish. Not good for anyone, sick or well. I really miss a tuna sandwich. Take care Joyce

Well, I know it's not gallbladder since I had mine out before all the Lyme crap started.
I'm not on IV anything either, so that couldn't be it.
So my intestines could be moving around on me?
How lovely....
