Who has taken the IGG/IGM Igenex test more than once, how did the results compare? If so, what was the time span/tx between testing?
Just another person here with some very painful, runrelenting symptoms looking for answers. Did your second test help you/your doctor set you on a tx plan that led to improvement? Would a second test post-abx be confirmatory either way?
Thanks for any experiences, MBB3

Yes I have.
I took IGG/IGM after being on abx for about 6 weeks. Then, at the very end of my treatment. The span was about 9 months or so.
My doctor did not treat me based on the results because technically it was negative.
She treated based on all my symptoms. Although, I did have a CDC positive test BEFORE I saw her and I was not on any antibiotics at the time.
i think being on abx can skew the test results.
For some strange reason my results were almost exactly the same. Band #41 was slightly more positive and I had #31 as IND. We all know that IND bands are considered a weak positive.
There is currently no test to confirm you are in remission. My LLMD recommends that if you are on abx and symptom free for 3 months, then you are considered in remission.
Im not sure if this is an indication I will relapse or not. I guess I will eventually find out.

I took Igenex test to confirm diagnosis, it was CDC positive on IgM and 90% CDC positive on IgG. This is one reason I actually believed what I was dealing with was lyme.
I took the same test about a year or two or something later and the IgM was negative, with a couple positive bands and the IgG was almost the same.
Once Lyme Doc consult said that it might only mean I'd driven them all into cyst form.
So, tests are not worth a whole lot with this disease. Except for me, it really helped that the first was so unquestionably and strongly positive.

Yes! I had a test thru Igenex that only showed a few bands.
Then I took abx for 4 wks. Then went off for 2 wks. Retested and about 3-4 more bands showed up. The test led to successful treatment after having Lyme for 42 yrs.
I'm now on 50 yrs and counting!
