I've been diagnosed w/ lyme's and on meds for 2.5 weeks.

The last couple of days I have been CRAZY HUNGRY.

It started suddenly and all I want to do is eat often and a lot.

Could this be from the meds, the Lyme's, or a coinfection?

It's bad enough that I no longer can exercise b/c I am so darn tired, but now all I want to do is EAT... Any help would be appreciated!

I have always been crazy hungry feels like I am starving.

The only time I didn't feel hungry was when I went on the all organic vegetarian diet. But, it took like 6 months to get to that point. Then, I messed up and ate some birthday cake and ice cream and I screwed it all up!!

It's yeast! Yeastie beastie's want to be fed.

I had this too in the beginning. You have to follow a very strict yeast free diet. Do a search here. You may have to take some antifungals too either rx or natural yeast killers.

This is overwhelming!

All of this from one teeny tiny tick.

Will my LLMD know how to get rid of all this?

Not only due to yeast, but due to neurotoxins too.

You can be hungry of proteins and fats (my case), NOT OF SUGAR exactly. So I don't believe it's always yeast. The only thing that made my hunger stop was eating about 5 eggs in a meal or something like that. The more butter, oils, the better!

I never gained anything, on the contrary, I lost weight during lyme.

You need fats to get some neurotoxins out.

While I was sick, I could eat every hour and I was still hungry. Two hours were too much to wait sometimes. I could collapse of fatigue if I skipped a snack.

It was like that for YEARS. The bigger the herx, the more I needed to eat.

I also suspect some big disfunction in the GI absorption too, probably caused by borrelia or by candida altogether.

Or the extreme effort of my cells and body used to fight pathogens, then to flush their die off toxins out. One needs to pump energy for that.

Somehow, the best energy for me came from meat, animal proteins and fats, NOT from veggetarian diets. I'm more veggie in normal times though.

Search here, many posts on excessive hunger, and many with fats and protein hunger, not only with sugar hunger. Many people become though overweight too with lyme (it's either underweight or overweight, I have the impression!).

Now I can skip a meal, I don't feel necessarily hungry and am SLOWLY gaining some of my weight back.

I have no longer lyme, I think. I don't take snacks in between main meals, for the only reason I'm simply not hungry anymore! It's an amazing shift for me, that have been hungry for so long!

Brussels- i am exactly like that i can eat all the time non stop...i dont think it is yeast for me because I rarely cheat...but i can eat and eat and eat....

i eat mostly veggies and meat....so i dont know what it is for me.

I did gain weight a few years ago , but still had the excessive hunger...now i eat and eat and gain nothing.
