just got the results of my abdominal cat scan and it showed swollen lymph nodes in the abodomen.

that combined with my loss of appetite and weight loss has me very worried.

made an appoint with an oncolist in 1.5 weeks to get it checked out.

crazy thing is my llmd didn't want to do the scan and my gastro guy did it to appease me saying he thoguht it was due to my depression and anxiety which i have developed in these 3 months.

now these results have really sent me flying. i am being treated for lyme and bart(tested positive igenex for lyme, neg for bart but seem to have the bart psych symtoms.

all my life my lymph nodes flare up alot so i am hoping that this could be one of those times. also, maybe it is the lyme as my llmd thought.

on zith iv for 2 weeks now and feel like stopping it.

also, it semms the only times my appetite ever came back was when i was off anibiotics.

keep thinking what the ifd said how the antibiotics have caused my whole intestinal system to go haywire and stopp the abx and i will get better.

very confused and worried.

thanks
bob

neg coinfections

my story is as follows for those who have not read it.

started 2 months ago. first llmd put me on amoxy, was good for a month seemed a little better. he switched to doxy and i lost my appetite and got a rash. stopped the doxy for a week and felt better eating wise.

went to new llmd and he started me on cedax.on cedax for 10 days and the loss of appetite started with nausea and now heavy anxiety came. stopped the cedax after i had darrhea and he feared c diff.

went to a grastro and he gave me flagyl. the D HAS STOPPED, but the anxiety is now debilitating.
now i developed a terrible quesy stomach, anxiety, loss of appetite and depression

my llmd dr s from nj says i have neuro lyme and is starting me on zithro iv on monday.
(it did come back igenex positve on the igg and igm.)

now for the last 12 days i feel like i am having the quesy stomach, anxiety sleep problems(waking up at 3 am with the quesy stomach feeling) and night sweats.

he thinks it is from the lyme and ;(also have some mild foot pain, crawling feeling on head and a stretch mark rash).

robfar if the stretch marks aren't bart they could

be cortisone related. But I would bet on Bart.

I can say at 2 months into

treating Lyme I was terribly sick and doc told me I

would be sicker than what I was starting out. Good

luck with the IV and remember lots of probiotics to

keep the bowels going.

Sounds Bart-ish to me. My family has also tested neg. for bart but we all have symptoms and now my LLMD is starting to think we really do have it.
I have gone most my live with swollen lymph nodes, mainly in my neck but also in my underarms.

But my 6 yr old son has been hospitalized with swollen lymph node in his arm. The hematologist at the hospital was the one who told me to have him tested for Bart because of it (after ruling out MRSA). This was before we knew we all had Lyme disease.
So.. if Bart (or lyme) causes swollen lymph nodes in my son's arm, and in my neck and underarms.. I don't see why it wouldn't cause abdominal lymph nodes to become swollen as well.

Rob- please let us know how the PET scan goes. It's a scarey test to have go thru- not the "test" itself...but rather what they are looking for with the test.
I had one done about a year ago.
Hope everything goes ok and once again- please keep us posted.
Will be thinking of you.

I agree with Pinelady, if the stretch marks are red, I'd bet on bart. Bart is harder to test for than lyme.

I had chronically swollen glands too. Except I had no idea why. I had lower left abdominal pain so bad I went to a hospital convinced I had acute appendicitis.

Now I know it was because of lyme. Swollen glands is a well known symptom. Of course you could have some other terrible disease at the same time, but it's probably *just* lyme.

Good luck tomorrow,

James

Vodder lymph massage...very gentle... should help.

If you can't find a therapist who knows how to do that...go to the internet and find a picture of the location of the many lymph nodes through-out the body. Gently massage them yourself.

Lymph nodes are slow to filter out dead "junk".

Great to know. I guess the system is just backed up? Have you tried the gentle massage?
