Do you any of you know what the difference is btwn the two?

Is one stronger than the other? Are there benefits from one or less side effects?

Thanks again to all of you with the wonderful help you provide.

Hi Ladeedah

Doxy and Bactrim are two totally different antibiotics. Doxy is a type of tetracycline.

Bactrim's scientific name is sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. DOn't know what family it falls into.

Doxy causes extreme sun-sensitivity, but it is seems to be a very popular choice among LLMD's (just not during the summer).

It treats Lyme and Erlichosis.

I'm on Bactrim to treat Bartonella, but I don't know if it works for other things as well.

Well my LLMD wanted to put me on Bactrim at first because he wanted to know if I wanted to go in the sun this summer.

I'd said I would forgo the sun if Doxy is what I need. Someone told me Bactrim treats bart, babs, lyme. Don't know if that is true.

But the Doxy/Doryx (non-generic) is causing me to clog up bathroom wise. I am trying to make my food choices candida friendly too and doing the pro-biotics and kefir.

So I was wondering if the Bactrim wouldn't plug me up.

Best way to know if it will plug you up is just try it. Everyone can be different in terms of side effects they experience and how bad they are.
