Ok, wondering if anyone else has experience with this.
Son has been undergoing treatment since May. At the beginning of treatment, joint/jaw pain & blurry vision were his usual complaints. Lasted only on and off for only about a month.
He's on zithro & omnicef. Things have been quiet for 2 months, no symptoms at all.
About an hour after he took his omnicef tonight, he came to me in tears. He was having severe eye pain, could barely open them, said it hurt too much.
We gave him motrin and put a cool clothe over his eyes, he fell asleep in his dad's arms. Not sure what tomorrow will bring, hoping all will be back to normal.
Herx? Anyone? Help....

Songbird,
I don't have experience with eye pain, but my son has a lot of eye symptoms.
Is he still having this pain? and if so, how often?
Perhaps it was something else, like a cold coming on....or dehydration???
Let us know how he feels now.
It could be a herx, but I don't really know. I'm surprised his symptoms diminished in the first month of therapy. That is great! But, cannot say about this new situation.

Was he able to describe the pain?
Was it the surface of the eye (like if he'd gotten soap in them) or a stabbing pain (like being poked in the eye) or was the pain from the light hurting his eyes?
I've had lots of different types of eye pain.
