I read thru the backlogs of tonsil problems, but I didn't read anyone mention anything about itchiness.

At first I thought allergy rxn to Augmentin, but it's only on the one side and it is a specific location.

Then I thought yeast, I looked and there is nothing back there. I do have a little on the tongue, but it looks very mild. I'm on 3rd day of Diflucan right now.

The tonsil still itches. It is occasional not horrible, but there. Any ideas? I see the Dr on Mon. Can you think of anything worth mentioning?

Thanks

I get this with allergies.

I learned how to use my tongue (backing it up) to rub the itchy parts.

Usually an antihistimine helps.

Maybe this will help you.

Hugs,

Mine was actually due to a bacterial infection in my tonsils. It itched into my ear canals as well. Biaxin cleared it up for me (though I herxed so hard I only lasted 10 days on the prescription, but it still cleared it up).

Thanks Geneal, do you mean like normal allergies- grass, pollen etc?

And thank you LL19. You were going to the ER b/c you said throat and mouth etc was itching. Is that what you are referring to? If so, what determined a bacterial infection in the tonsil? How common is that?

Right now, I feel that I could use a straw and itch that spot!!

So, I don't think its the meds. Would you agree due it being a specific area?

Thank you
