Just wanted to know what are the usually prescribed doses of malarone for babs? 2x1/2x2?
And what is the prescribed dose of zithromax when taking malarone?
Is it neccesary to take artemisinin right from the beginning on , or can I go step by step?
Please tell me what is usually for a dose of artemisinin recommended?
Since I wrote before i don t have a positive babs test (germany only one poor test existing).
But I have , bart, chlamydia pneumoniae und suspected babs or other protozooa.
I have an very high IGE level.3000.
We heavily (doc) suspect protozoan infection, because the abx which helped most were Clindamycin, Tinidazole, Cotrimoxazol.
This are all agents with antiprotzooal power.
I have the dark urine, strong back pain, flushing, air hunger, strong night sweats, diarrhea.
For the last few month I was only on bactrim and was feeling much better - except 6 days before to 2 days before fullmoon everymonth.
So my plan is to go on with bactrim, start zithromax, then malarone in the beginning(have two packs) and later mepron instead of malarone.
When tolerated I ll add artemisinin.
Best regards and sorry for my bad english
Stefan

I could use the doseage too. What is the Best way to work on my Babesia protocol? Malarone is what I'm on. What supplement/specific manufacturer can help take me further?

I am wondering why the usually prescribed dose of malarone is much lower (2x1) tablets- compared to mepron . It is the same ingredient - atavaquone.
malarone is 250 mg x 2 atovaquone and mepron is usually given 750 mg x2 atovaquone?
Why the difference?
So should I worry about resistance when starting with malarone 2x1,zithromax and Bactrim.
This is such a great forum - without you guys I am lost here in Germany.
Best

Malarone is far less likely to produce resistance given the dual combination of Atovaquone and Proguanil.
It's useful to combine other therapies though -- stacking them upon the Malarone.
I'm just not sure what I should start stacking. I'm using 1 tablet, twice per day, or 250/100mg. Would a higher dose produce better results?
Additionally, for most patients, Mepron is more effective. However, shockingly, some people don't respond at all to Mepron but do respond to Malarone. It is not fully understood why if I'm not mistaken.

After you have done malarone for a while, consider a combination of qualaquine and clindamycin. That's the final combination that seems to have knocked out the babesia for my husband. But that was after about 3 months of malarone with IV Flagyl, then 4 months of malarone with IV Zith.
Also, look for Groovy2's posts as he has successfully fought back babesia.
