I noticed yesterday that my son's urine is very cloudy, almost white, with a slightly sweet smell to it.
Has been under treatment for almost 6 months now. Zith, omnicef, takes probiotics.
Had f/u with llmd yesterday, he's running labs but wasn't terribly concerned.
Anyone else have issues like this? Do you know why?

Hi,
I have not had issues with this but it is good that his LLMD is running labs.
One possibility to rule out is diabetes.
I don't say that to scare you....you will probably find out it's nothing serious.
Maybe meds and supps are causing a different odor and color????

Possibly the reason your son's doctor as not more concerned is that the most common cause of whitish cloudy urine is excess phosphate crystals, which is a harmless condition. It is usually caused by consumption of milk or a large meal.
Another common cause of cloudy urine is a bladder infection, and in these cases the cloudiness is usually caused by white blood cells. There are usually other symptoms which would be indicative of this, such as more frequent urges to urinate, or painful urination.
At any rate, you say the doctor is running labs, so if something is amiss, he will probably find it in the results.
PS If it were diabetes, increased thirst and increased urination would usually dilute the urine instead of making it cloudy.

I sometimes notice cloudy urine and it almost always has a sweet smell. I always think of pineapples... weird. I've had my blood glucose and all of that tested and it's all come back fine.
