Not sure I am spelling it correctly...but a doc I saw up in my area for pain said he wanted to try Darvacet.......but I have to research concerning interactions with Mepron, Ceftin and Biaxin.
Anyone try this?

Darvocet... It's a decent pain reliever, not the strongest out there, but a good place to start for pain.
A combo of Darvon and Tylenol, basically.
Some people have called it "the old lady's pain med" because it is not terribly strong - but it is helpful.
(In my case, it's one of the very few pain meds to which I'm not allergic.)

- As Cactus mentioned, Darvocet is Propoxyphene Napsylate and Acetaminophen.
Regarding Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen, those are each very hard on the liver and kidneys, respectively.
Because of the toxic load for lyme patients, drugs can be even harder on our bodies. But, there is no need to suffer. There are many good methods to address pain that are not damaging to the body.
Excerpt: " . . . But a study in this week's Journal of the American Medical Association shows that ordinary doses of acetaminophen can cause liver damage. . . . "
FDA Group Issues Cautions on Acetaminophen Overdose Commonly Used Pain Drug Poses Serious Danger in Certain Cases, FDA Says
Excerpt: " . . ."I was taking Tylenol like I was supposed to, by the label," he said. A few days later the then 37-year-old Benedi was in a coma and in desperate need of a liver transplant. . . . "

I tried Darvacet today and noticed no change in pain! I only felt light headed and dizzy.
I have found no good methods to address pain that are not damaging to the body. None, zero, ziltch, but I'll keep trying.
I might go right the MJ.

- Actually, that may help ease the kind of pain that comes with neurolyme as an assist from time to time (but it won't correct the cause/imbalance or enhance healing). If your state has medical MJ cards, you can get it in various forms. "Funny Butter" is one form that is easier on the lungs. Stay hydrated.
Oh, but first, have you used Corydalis? That has been very helpful for me.

- Corydalis, in addition to helping as a pain reliever, can also help calm the brain and lessen the amygdala kindling that occurs with neuroborreliosis.

- Is your vitamin D where it should be? If low, that can cause a tremendous amount of pain, partly because magnesium supplements (that normally help reduce pain) won't work for if D is low.
D3 (not D2) is the supplement you'd want. Sublingual is best. -

I had panic attacks while using it. I had to go to the ER.

I took Darvon for pain unrelated to lyme (after a knee operation), I found it slightly more effective than vicodin. Percocet (oxydocontin) worked better for me.
Rich, where is the pain again? Your shoulder? Elbow? Is it in the muscle? I *might* have an idea.
