My LLMD tested my testosteone - turns out it's way low. He says that he's seeing in his male and female patients who are middle aged and who get better after abx, but not back to full speed, show very low levels - way under what is average for people in their age group.

Once he starts them on testosterone supps, they start to improve.

My regular GP tested me and has found 3x that my levels are way below the norm, but is still reluctant to administer supplements.

Anyone here getting testosterone shots?

After I started on this quest, i found out that both a sister and a brother, both of whom have Lyme, are getting shots!

My test is very low or borderline low most of the time I test it . I did couple "restarts" - which is not exogenous test but estrogen reducers (clomid, arimidex, tamoxifen) - both times my test levels went up to high normal range, which means its secondary hypogonadism (e.g. testicles work fine they just dont get proper signal to produce it)

I didnt get around to test it again after last restart, But if it dropped I will do gel + HCG

I am using a testosterone cream once day as my testosterone it low. I am a woman. I have been using it for several months, but I can't say for certain if it is helping me or not. My last test showed my testosterone is still low, although a little bit higher.

Not sure it that helps.

Venus,

Have you noticed any weight gain from the testosterone?

Any other "unpleasant" side effects?

Dan, don't add T if your testicles are in working order. Try HCG or HCG and an Arimidex combo first.

Check LH/FSH levels. If LH/FSH are low to low normal in the presence of low T, then you are secondary~~> HCG may work.

If LH/FSH are above normal, the testicles have probably called it quits. Then adding T is OK.

If you add T in with good testicles, they'll shrink. Of course, you can run both HCG (to stimulate testicles) and T together as well but your E is likely to get too high in which case you'll need to add Arimidex...

Some people are using low dose Clomid as a means of stimulating T production now too but some are affected by its sides more than others...

Also rule out thyroid issues. Hypothyroidism can do funny things.
