Hi all, I'm new here.

I just started Zithromax, Omnicef and Rifampin on Monday and stopped Friday. I have been having tinnitus on doxycycline, 200mg x 2 per day. I am very concerned about my tinnitus, but I'm also very concerned about treating my Lyme disease. I don't know which is worse.

Here's the symptoms I've been having (had before, but now they are worse): PVCs/palps, tinntus, nausea, diarrhea, headache, shoulder aching, chest pain, body aches.

Is this herxing? I've had them all before, but not really to this extent. Thanks for any guidance.

The LLMD is definitely where I would start, if you can afford it. I hope you find some help and feel better soon.

So I read the threads that Keebler suggested (as much as I could in one night) and I'm feeling concerned about zith. I don't want to harm my hearing further. I think I may ask my LLMD if we can back off of it somewhat. Is that what many of you would do? tinnitus is no joke and I don't want it to be permanent if I can help it. Not sure what to do....

Yes, talk to your LLMD ASAP. I took zithromax for 3 months or so recently. After several weeks the tinnitus that I've had for decades got waaay worse---really loud! But I didn't know to associate it with any of the abx I was on. It was 6 weeks later before I spoke to my LLMD,who took me off it. It hasn't gone away, and it's been several months now that I've been off it. : - (

And, on top of that, my hearing, which hasn't been good for a long time, seems to be worse now (not sure if it's from the zith or not). When the tinnitus is so loud, it makes it even harder to hear spoken words. I'm forever saying, "What?" when everyone else can hear.

Thanks for info all, I have been on Zith as well for months...My ringing has gotten so bad this morning I can hardly stand it.

I just started back on artemisinin (5th day in) and I was so sick yesterday and today but I hadn't linked it to the zith, but it's funny because I had just bummed it it from half tablet every other day to a half twice aday..

I figured since it wasn't upsetting my stomach I could tolerate it.

I REALLY appreciate the headsup. I AM backing off it for a couple of days, even though I'm sure I've probably already done permanent damage.

God Bless,
Karen (:

Hope,
I will have to check on what I was suppose to be taking.

I know its zith 600 mg and I think he wanted me to take it once a day or something like that.

I had such a hard time I cut back to half a tab once every other day,

then 1/2 tab. once a day

and I tried to up it to 1/2 twice a day but it was too much for me.

Karen
