No matter how much I eat, I still feel hungry. If I go for a few hours without eating, I think I am going to starve. Is this part of lyme?
Thanks, Jen

I have had this issue in the past.
I was told it could be an adrenal issue.

It can also be caused by hypoglycemia.

This is on the symptom list at Humaworm as one of the sympyoms of parasites. I used to have this until I started getting rid of parasites.
They steal your food especially tapeworms. Hypoglycemia is also another symptom,

I don't ever really feel true "hunger" because my digestive tract hurts so much and I'm so uncomfortable...but now all of a sudden I can't go an hour without eating. It's awful, every hour I feel like I'm going to pass out if I don't eat. I get short of breath, my heart goes funny, etc.
It doesn't make sense because I have gastroparesis so food doesn't actually leave my stomach. It can't be healthy to keep piling it in...I'll never have time to digest! lol!

My daughter is also hungry ALL of the time.
As a matter of fact, we recently had a 24 hour urinalysis done, and the naturopath that read the report ask me if she had fasted that day.
I told her "no" but the tests came back looking like she had hardly eaten anything that day.
I thought it was very strange, but if she has some type of parasite, that would make more sense.
How do I get rid of them?? I thought about maybe the vit c/salt protocol. From what I have read, the salt will kill them out.
Does this sound right??

I think it's related to something in the brain that tells signals the stomach to feel full. The stomach and the brain are really connected that way.
My daughter would get it a lot when she was on certain drugs.
She drinks a Carnation Instant Breakfast and eats a protein like peanut butter.
Sometimes, she takes a Meclizine (Rx). That drug is used for seasickness. That will turn off that impulse.

Protein in the morning really helps this, sugar and carbs first thing makes me hungry all day.
I go through cycles of starvation-like feelings.
Parasites are a definite possibility. Standard process enzymes like Zymex help clear the colon.
Good luck. *BugBit*

I agree that it can be related to something in the brain. And Lyme effects the brain.
I have had a horrible appetite for a year and a half or more, and lost down to 104. Now suddenly my appetite is back with a vengence. I think it is lyme related.

In my opinion it's an insulin/blood sugar deal. I would starve ALLLLL DAYYYY.
I've fixed this 2 ways.
1) Support your adrenals 2) Clean up your diet (alkaline foods, gluten free, no sugar)
I think malabsorption is an issue too. but that can be treated with 2 ^^ on my list. Become alkaline.
