WELL WELL WELL here they are. Main symptom(s) are muscle soreness/pain and occasional twitches. Also bowel movements aren't "regular" and often stools looser than they should be, and a lot of stomach gurgling. Age:19 Male, skinny, healthy, no real past medical issues. No fibromyalgia or other chronic issues in past family history. Live in country in Southern Indiana. Have vacationed to California, (once ) Florida, Mexico (briefly). North Carolina, if that means anything.

Lyme IgG Western Blot:
41 kDa +++

Lyme IgM Western Blot:
31 +++
41 +
83-89 +

Lyme IgM 31 kDa Epitope Test : Positive

please inform.
thx [Smile]

You've got Lyme. Begin treatment, evaluate for co-infections and other potential complications.

I agree...find a good LLMD now.

Get a good eval for coinfections like Metallic Blue said.

Do not delay....the sooner you get treated properly the better.

I would not jump at a lyme diagnosis. First, I'd check into your stomach issues. See a GI doctor and get his opinion. Have you been tested for celiac/gluten issues? Were your stools "normal" before and now are not?

Start with the GI stuff. Then see where that leads.

Best, Timaca

I have been to a GI doctor and I actually had 2 months of diahreea last spring and he attributed the problem to not enough fiber in the diet and suggested to just do some metimucil but I havent been doing it regularly... it could have been stress related too.the problems have mostly cleared up by now. also was tested for a wide variety of paracites and all that came back neg. I am on humaworm right now anyhow. I have been tested for that celiac stuff it it came back negative as in i don't have it.

Timaca, I sure would love to visit your ID docs. [Smile] I'm amazed at their willingess to treat it all. I'm always surprised as you're the ONLY member here who believes it can be more than Lyme. [Smile] I respect that too.

Some people do have IBS...and stress can aggravate that problem. A friend of mine has IBS. Avoiding oats helps her. Stress makes it worse. Perhaps read up on IBS and see if it matches your GI problems. Glad you've had some work ups done by a GI doctor.

If you continue to have GI issues, and the doctors don't know what it might be, consider enterovirus. See: www.enterovirusfoundation.org

Do you have other symptoms besides GI, muscle pain and twitching? Those symptoms alone do not scream lyme disease.

Seekhelp~ I feel really, really (really) fortunate to have the ID doctors that I do. They are awesome. With any luck there will be a website up and going soon that people can refer to that will help in (1) ruling out all other causes besides infectious pathogens for bizarre health issues and (2) give info on various infectious pathogens. I had hoped that the website was to be up and running by the end of 2009. With any luck it will be up and running in a month or two. I will post when it is.

Best, Timaca

Doesn't matter. The combination is specific to Lyme disease.

31 is quite specific to lyme but can be cross-linked with a couple of viruses.

41 is pretty much useless - you've been exposed to (one of many) spirochetes.

I'd focus on the muscle soreness and twitching and the 31/83 and say at the very least be looking for an LLMD.

Lyme IgM 31 kDa Epitope Test : Positive

No Doubts for me.

Mine was neg. but I now know I have a virus which can make it neg. by cross reaction.
