I had no idea of what the panic attacks meant when they hit me. I was having terrible inner ear infections at the time and, looking back, I see it was the lyme but also the stress on the inner ear.

The only way I managed to diminish anxiety was to avoid all drugs that promised they'd do that. I had the opposite effect with each of them, likely from the liver stress but also the chemicals were just too harsh for my brain.

Are you taking magnesium, calcium, zinc . . . fish oil?

Are you on an anti-lyme protocol yet? Anti-babesia? Addressing the infections along with liver support/protection AND adrenal support were all essential ingredients to decrease that awful feeling.

Magnesium is the best to calm the excited NMDA neuro receptors but, again, just part of the plan that worked for me.

Listening to Mozart - no other music was as effective - also helped my brain get in to the right synchronization and calmed my body.

You are avoiding all Nutrasweet/Aspartame/Equal - even a trace can cause panic attacks for lyme patients. And MSG, too. It has many names, so Google for those.

Once the infections are under control, the liver is less stressed and your adrenals are supported this will be much better.

Cordyceps is the best place to start with adrenal support. Ashwagandha and then SIBERIAN Ginseng (not regular Gingseng).

Be sure you are not taking any supplements intended to "boost" anything. Lyme patients' bodies are not able to handle "boosting" very well.

This can get better. Remember to breathe. For years, I had to pay attention to that as it seemed my body could not do it automatically anymore.

After the "Arrrrgghhh!" remember the "Ohmmmmmm" - if even just for a chuckle.

Mine have gone away. I have been trying to medidate twice a day for 20 minutes. Fell of the wagon doing it but at least the panic attacks (like riding in the back of a car or in the middle of the night) have vanished.

Google ask Dr. walt stoll. Good info there!

Oh, if you have inner ear or balance issues, attending to that is also important. Try a little ginger but if it stimulates you too much, back down in dose.

Vestibular training with TAI CHI can be very helpful for many reasons.

Have you tried valarian root (herb, scullcap or kava kava? I used to have panic attacks REALLY bad and was on Trofanil (spelling) at the time, and it helped.
