These links do a pretty good job of explaining the difference between T3 and T4. They also delve into the differences between the synthetics with only T3 or T4 (or even a combination of T3 and T4) versus the natural desiccated thyroid hormones that contain T3,T4, along with T1 and T2 in the physiological amounts that are found in healthy patients with functioning thyroid glands.
