Considering going on Bacillin, but most of my symptoms are neuro-related.

How does this drug fair against these symptoms? I've read that it's very helpful for aches, pains, joint issues, etc. I don't have much of that.

LLMD says it's (almost) as effective as IV, but didn't say exactly against what -- Bb, Bart, Babs, etc.

Does it cross the BBB well?

Any personal experiences with Bacillin and neuro symptoms would be welcome.

I have been on Bicillin for a year and I do not
think it helps with Neuro symptoms. I know I
herxed off it at first and now I am not sure
it is doing much. I stayed on it as some say
it can take 10 months to really reap the benefits.
Guess I will know when I go off it soon.

I would say it would only hit Lyme. There
was a chart on all abx someone posted the other
day that was very detailed on each abx and
and what they targeted ect....

My experience is that over extended periods of use it does help neuro symptoms that are due to Lyme.

Bicillin will only treat Lyme, not bartonella or babesia.

I'm not sure how well it crosses the BBB.

I think that Amoxicillin crosses into the brain in really high doses. That is what my previous LLMD told me. He said he was giving me high doses of Amox so it reached the brain.

Not sure about Bicillin, which is technically Penicillin, in IM form.

How's your new doc working out TC? PM if you get a moment. I know you're not still seeing the "old man."

I wasn't that impressed with Bicillin when I used it--granted I only used it for a few months. Perhaps you could try a healthy dose of Amoxy first with probenecid. It would be easier than the shots.

FWIW. Bicillin shots have definitely improved my stammering. My family says I am more alert, sharper. I am still exhausted and have intermittent pain, but I think they are working on my neuro lyme. It just takes time.
