Feelfit posted on this a while back. Wanted to know if others are doing this. I have been on rifampin for a very long time. Doctor is adding levaquin (also on omnicef, art and pulsing flagyl).
Did people have success with levaquin and rifampin?
I have what appears to be a nasty bartonella case. We think the lyme is improving and now bartonella seems worse than ever.

Hey venus,
Bumping you up....I never did end up doing this combo. Other health issues got in the way...May want to PM 1xbitten2xshy, I know that they did this combo and tolerated it quite well.
best, Feelfit

My llmd does not prescribe them together. I can not remember why. I've read on here though that some people have taken them together...I just have no experience with this. Sorry!

I did this combination a while back and it worked wonders for me. My symptoms were mostly neuro and my LLMD suspected bartonella.
Almost immediately, I saw a difference.
I still have both medications and if I feel it flaring up again in the slightest, I try the regimen again. I have no negative response to Rifampin at all.
I do have to take Levaquin first thing in the morning because it causes insomnia for me otherwise. Good luck!

Thanks so much LMZ. I will remember that about taking the levaquin first thing in the AM.
I am glad to hear it works. I have been on rifampin forever and I am still suffering so much from the neuro. I hope adding the levaquin helps.
I am scared of the emotional herx, but we shall see.
