I am very concerned because I seem to be relapsing. It is not a herx. Mentioned to my LLMD last week that I felt like I was relapsing and needed help. She kept me on the same medication and same dosage that I have been on for 90 days.

Since that appointment, symptoms are stronger. I respect our LLMDs and am very thankful for them. But what would you do in the 11th hour, when feeling very ill, but your doctor will not change your meds or dosage?

I can look for a new LLMD, but what do you do in the mean time? I dont want to relapse any further. I have not been able to drive and have had to be in bed more.

Thanks for your input. Just very concerned.

I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering so much. It is hard for me to understand why your doctor is not trying to help you more.

Did your doctor say why she would not change your medication? Does she not believe that you are relapsing/getting worse? What does she think about that?

Did you tell her that you are so concerned that you might consider seeking a second opinion? That might wake her up and get her thinking more seriously.

Sadly if she cannot help you anymore it sounds like you need to look for a new LLMD.

Maybe others here can help recommend some good supportive herbals to try while you wait for a new appt.

I wish I could help you more MorningSong. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Ditto what sammy said.

If you need help finding a new LLMD, just post over in Seeking and someone will help you.

Have you been tested and/or treated for coinfections? Kinda sounds like one. [group hug]

Thank you Sammy and Lymetoo.

The doctor stated she did not think I was relapsing but a reaction to medications. I shared with her that I felt in serious condition and was having to lay down for most of the day now.

Have been on Omnicef and Zith for almost 90 days. Lymetoo, the co-infections that I tested positive for are: Babesia WA-1 and Ehrlichia. Will post under Seeking a Doctor tomorrow.

Thank you both for sharing and for your prayers.

That doesn't cut it, does it?

So what has been your treatment for Babesia, thus far?

A friend has pointed out to me that stress may a factor. I had a family member pass away suddenly in a tragic way which has brought many tears within the last 2 weeks. She stated that stress can bring setbacks, so this could be a part.

Regarding Babesia treatment, I had recently tried Malarone, very small baby doses, but I was taken off because symptoms were growing worse. But even off of the Malarone, the extreme weakness continues.

To be honest, I dont know if all this is stress or relapse (it feels like it), or all of the above. It feels like relapse of major symptoms, but I dont know whether stress caused or abx no longer working caused. Sorry for rambling.

If you were taking malarone and were feeling worse you were probally herxing. The strain of babs you have is hard to get rid of and needs more treatment. I would try to get back on babesia treatment. It could be the stress or it sounds more like a babs relapse.

Probably ALL OF THE ABOVE. That would actually be good news. Stress is adding to the equation and once that is alleviated, you'll be better.
I'm VERY sorry for your loss! [group hug]

For me, babesia was the WORST when it came to extreme fatigue.

Sounds like you could use a re-visit with meds for babesia. You felt worse because you were herxing. You didn't feel better off the malarone because the babs was still there.

Get some rest and plan your next move.

--hugs--

editing to add... Marcie... you posted while I was composing mine! ( I was interrupted over here and it just sat .. )

Now I can just say.. I agree!
