Currently I am on meds that conflict with Diflucan. Nystatin did not work for me. I have systemic yeast. Don't know if it is the yeast causing weakness or Lyme/Co infection.
How do you know the best time to stop abx to deal with yeast without causing relapse? Is it possible to take abx and not have a problem with yeast?
Thanks for your input.

I don't have yeast issues; except for once when I had it in my mouth. Got rid of it with yeast meds(can't remember which one)and haven't needed to take any since. That was about a year ago.
However, I am only on Doxy now, not multi antibiotics. Doxy is one of the antibiotics that is less likely to cause yeast also.
How do you know you have systemic yeast?

I have thrush and also vaginal yeast infection so I thought that meant it was most likely systemic.
I have read that people feel better after treating yeast and helps them tolerate abx better.
Thats great you dont have yeast problems.

When I was on 2 antibiotics at once, I was also on Diflucan. That is the preventative way to avoid a yeast issue.
I did have a couple of vaginal yeast infections along the way, treated those with OTC meds and they cleared up.
Maybe you could change your antibiotics and also take Diflucan along with them.

- Olive Leaf Extract was fabulous for me the times I was on abx. It prevented candid totally. Don't know about addressing it once developed but it sure kept it away from the start. you might try it.

Thanks for the Olive Leaf Extract information.
How much did you take to prevent the yeast?
Thats awesome to know that one can be on abx without developing yeast.

I thought I was doing so good at prevention I could back off. Now I know better. I doubled up a couple
days while stopping antibiotics and I am now back to good. Cutting corners for yeast is not something I can do.

I printed the information out and am posting on my refrigerator. I didn't realize just how bad yeast is to the immune system and how important diet really is - especially when recovering from Lyme.
I pray for help in making these changes. If one already has systemic yeast, can it be healed while on abx? I know many have been able to prevent it.
