Hi,
can one of you super lyme activists tell me what the CDC ESTIMATED number of Lyme cases was for 2008?
I thought I read somehwere the CDC estimated it was between 175,000-300,000 new cases...

Here is the CDC chart..you multiply their numbers by 10. So yes, about 350,000 newly diagnosed in 2008 would be accurate. Most cases of LD are not reported by many mainstream doctor's, therefore these numbers have said to be 10 times what is shown reported:

cant confirm this but at my last Lyme support group meeting (Feb 13th) the leader said that for 2009 (not 2008) there was 220,000 new confirmed cases to CDC.
Guess who was one of them ):

This is a nice, easy to read chart developed by the LDA... with some extras included.

Oh my God, the CDC says that cases in TN have dropped 65% from 1993 to 2008? TN is where I was infected and I know people personally that were diagnosed with fibromyalgia, MS, and lupus in TN that probably have Lyme. TN has a huge problem with Lyme. There are large numbers of deer, large numbers of ticks, and large numbers of suburbs. The CDC reporting is a travesty.

Yes that is bad especially when the doctors reported seeing a 100% increase in Ehrlichiosis
cases. It was in the newspapers! Go figure. Monkey-no-look- syndrome again.
