Amox, plaquenil, biaxin, xanax?

I also was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst last week.

Normally, Milk Thistle is taken hours away from any Rx.

Plaquenil is the only one you might need to find out about.

I am not sure about which ones, exactly, but some anti-babesia meds (probably mepron) either can't be taken with Milk Thistle - need it to be taken hours apart on the time schedule - or a different liver support needs to be used. Some liver support is still absolutely essential, though.

All the others are fine. Xanax pushes the same liver detox pathway as needed to metabolize artemisinin. So, if there is any way you can lower your dose of xanax safety and still feel okay, that may help you better tolerate artemisinin.

Magnesium and Fish oil can provide calming for the nervous system. Be sure you have that in place, too, as magnesium is also very good for the liver.

============

Ovarian cysts are not all that uncommon. However, your gyn. should be able to tell you more about what to do - it depends on the kind of cyst and other things, too. Often, they will shrink on their own - or fluctuate according to one's cycle.

Thanks for all that info. I will call the pharmacy tomorrow and find out.

Oh i didnt know that the xanax uses the same pathway, so that means the amount of xanax I am taking now might not be as effective while taking the xanax?

Or, that it just make the art not as easily detoxed thus causing more herx symptoms?

I guess I dont really understand the basics of the herx either. I know that the toxins are realeased and causes symptoms in the area that are infected. I just don't get why they last for so long. Im only taking 100 mgs of art once daily, you would think I could detox that small amount.

So, assuming i do better with liver support and magnesium, i wont have herx symptoms?

How long does a herx usually last?

I did take milk thistle while on plaquenil and on artemisinin. I did not take it while on mepron because I had read that it can make the mepron less effective.

liver support and magnesium can help, but i wouldn't say that it would prevent herx symptoms. have you herxed before on other meds? i have had some major herxes (some lasted 30 days, but most of my herxes lasted a week).

I have never had a reaction to Doxy, amox, or biaxin- i just felt better.

I did however, have a bad reaction to Bactrim twice which I went off of. I remember depression, headaches and anxiety during that time.

I haven't taken my antibiotics today or last night, have been in bed all day, drinking water, magnesium, green tea, eating small protein meals, drinking veggie juice and i still feel horrible.

Its been 5 days on the art and 6 days on the Malarone with a one week break in between

Small protein meals and veggie juice may not be enough food. You probably need some complex carbs to hold you over. The veggie juice has become a more simple sugar and the protein helps but some veggies and a non-gluten grain like quinoa will help. Be sure to get some olive oil on your veggies and grains, too.

Quinoa is very easy to digest. You can add back in the pulp from your juicer, too. Hope you feel better but it will take a while. It's just part of the deal. Just remember, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey there [Smile] thanks for all your advice. I did eat about an hour ago- had some chicken with veggies.

I had another attack where i couldnt feel my hands and legs and they felt numb and cold, along with the despair and crying. Even my husband is sick of hearing it.

All i want to do is talk about how i feel. its like im completely obsessed.

I've been lying in the dark for over an hour and still feel just as horrible as the last hour.

Im just sick of being this way. Ive been in bedo for a month and have absolutely no quality of life.

my llmd wanted me to add cipro for bart, but wanted me to wait to see what happens with the art.

Maybe ill just take it. i cant feel any worse than this.

You can check med/vitamins, etc. interactions here: http://tinyurl.com/yfwxpjn

I take all these except Plaquenil, there should be no reason why you shouldn't.
