I sent him my symptoms chart from the last few weeks and he said to not take anything besides the amox until I see him. He is 5 hours away and i cant see him for another two weeks.

If it was a herx, and I dont go back on the art i will loose everything I suffered for, because the disease will come right back.

Im so disappointed and feel completely discouraged.

I dont understand why he would say not to take anyhting other than I haven't been in to see him and maybe he is uncomfortable changing things again over the phone without my seeing him.

I really think that if he spoke to me face to face he wouldn't think the meds are causing the problem....

Im thinking of just staying on what i am and pulsing the art, to keep what I've gained. I mean, i went off the meds this weekend and felt manic, which seemed to get better once on plaquenil.

I am terrified of just stopping all of them.

Thats the thing, i did take a break over the weekend and didnt feel better.

Im concerned that any babs that I killed and suffered to kill over hte last 3 weeks will now come back and i will have to start all over.

how long does it take for babesia to regrow?

Is this a new Dr or have you seen him before??

If you have seen him before by all means call and ask him why he wants you to stop. Tell him how you feel and ask if him if you can at least pulse the art. and perhaps plaquenil.

If he has a reason for wanting to have you stop you have the right to know why.

My first instinct is to say continue but as merry girl says you need ot follow your Drs advice. Often they see the "big picture" and have reasons we dont understand why.

So please dont freat yourself..just call him...if you're like me you probably hate "to bother" them but 2 weeks is a long time to wait.

Perhaps ya'll can come to some type of compromise.

Good Luck,

Karen (:

Over the weekend is not really enough time to get the meds out of your system to see exactly what is causing what.

I personally don't think 2 weeks is an unreasonable time to take a break. You may actually feel better once they are all out of your system.

I would follow drs instructions. Like said above, they see the big picture.

I spoke to my husband and we figured out a way to see him on Thursday, so at least it won't be too much time in between for the babs to come back.

I wish I could just call and speak directly to him, but he wants to see me. he doesnt usually talk on the phone, and I can leave a message which a nurse then calls me back with instructions from him, which doesnt really allow me to explain in depth.

It;s just weird to me. I've been on abx for a year and he never once thought the drugs were cuasing issues.

Then he adds a med, I have a dramatic reaction. He adds another that treats same infection, same reaction.

So to me, either I am herxing or there is another infection not being treated.

he did say to the nurse maybe I was sensitive to the drugs, but that just doesnt make sense to me. Once i stopped the Art, I did better so its not like i am oversensitive to the other meds Im on as I never had a problem.

I guess what freaked me out is if he doesnt think its a herx, then im far away from getitng this under control. If I am herxing then its temporary and that means i will get better.

Now stopping all drugs to start all over is just not what i want to do especially since the longer I am off the babs treatment the less likely I will want to go through the herx again.

ugh, well, i will explain all this to him thursday. At least I wont be going long without abx.

U guys are right, i want to keep on the meds, but dont feel comfortable taking them when he said not to so I wont.
