Any suggesions or insight? thanks!

Dr K. and others say that when chelating out
the toxics like heavy metals etc. It needs to be
compensated for by taking in deficient metals
and he mentions copper at least twice, selenium
or even iron might be useful. Also mentions chlorella as useful (for binding and eliminating toxins from gut?). So you are disturbing the
toxins and as they move from tissue to tissue
they make you feel sick. I think that is how that theory goes. But in general Lyme disease has made me more sensitive to sunshine, caffiene, chocolate, emotional responses of any kind are more intense etc. So it is hard to tell the reason. My own theory is that at least some brain receptors are blocked or inhibited possibly due to excessive activity in other brain areas (due to excitotoxin, neuropathy etc) when the blocking substance is removed . . . wham we go from 0 to 60 mph in no time.

Anyway I think it is a good sign that your are having this type of sensitivity. A sign that
your are clearing a meaningful load of lyme and co's out of your body. Only an opinion though.

Pugs,

I noticed when taking ALA, there was a metal-like smell to my urine. So, yep, it's chelating the metal and toxins.

I asked this same question of my llnd and she said I was detoxing as well. I am not on abx. I also asked if it would get easier as I pushed through it and she said that from her experience that it what happens. I combine ALA with Vitamin C which she says are big precursors to glutathaione.

As others have said, ALA can mobilize metals. You must be very careful with molizing metals because they can move to the brain. My understanding is that you need a binder if you are using ALA. It's a good idea to have a practioner who knows about heavy metal chelation on board so you don't get yourself into trouble.

ALA is also sulfur based. Not good for those who have problems with sulfur. I didn't know I had problems with sulfur until I had the genetic test for that. After I stopped sulfur based supplements my muscles stopped burning. I don't know all the symptoms that go with the various sulfur problems but I think asthma is one.

Yeah, made my muscles burn even more..also very very weak and foggier. LLMD didn't mention a binder. Think I'll check that out. I also didn't know ALA and Vit C were a good combo.

Interesting, thanks for the responses.
