I am under treatment for Lyme, as far as I know no co-infections.
I had a hive reaction to Amox while pregnant 13 years ago so LLMD has reservations about trying it again ( but we are considering it ) I have heard the allergy testing is not all that accurate but may have that done anyway before I try taking it again.
Has anyone here had a hive type reaction and then some time later successfully taken that same antibiotic without problems?
And in case I can't tolerate the Amox does anyone have any suggestions on what to combine with Azithromycin and Plaquenil for Lyme?

I was told to combine only minocyclin or biaxin with plaquenil. Have not tried it yet. ART testing could probably indicate if you have an allergy, but it is not scientific.

i also had a hive reaction to amoxi 10 yrs ago. keep asking myself the same question.
and one more question: i read mostly people with herpes-viruses develop amoxi-rashes. does anyone know more about that?

Tretacycline, Biaxon & Plaquenil is a common combination protocal.

I have herpes virus (cold sores) & didn't have allergy nor rashes w/amoxicillin.

You need to go into your LLMd's office and do an abx challenge.
You would take a small amount of Amoxi at his office and wait there 2-3 hours to see if you have any severe allergic reactions. If you decide to try this without a challenge make sure to have liquid Benadryl handy and have your LLMd Rx an Epipen.
If you do actually have a penicillin allergy, be also aware you could have a cephalosporin allergy, they are both beta lactams and sometimes people with penicillin allergies are also allergic to the cephalosporins abx.
Also, it is unlikey that you don't have co-infections, just a sad fact. It is possible, but unlikely. The majority of LD patients do have them.
