One of my Facebook friends posted that her husband (who has late-stage lyme) would be on a public radio talk show this AM talking about his experience with Lyme.
They also had a GP from Western PA on there too to give his two cents.
Was overall happy with the show; my friend gave an excellent overview of his struggles and what we have to go through to get dx'ed and tx'ed.
I was ready to throttle that doctor, though.
He gave the typical mainstream CDC gobbledegook about ELISA tests being the best and long-term abx being bad.
He also blasted the idea that other bugs carry Lyme and the idea of Lyme being transmitted through sex, congenitally, etc.
You know, the typical things we hear.
I called in and gave my experiences, focusing on being told I was crazy, stressed, depressed, and a hypochondriac; he said something to the effect of "people need to stop pushing for Lyme treatment when they may not have Lyme..."
I just hope that duck's remarks don't end up doing us more harm than good...

Star,
I listened for about 20 minutes. That was all I could take!
I can't write the words that come to mind concerning that duck...
if only the listening public were fed the truth instead of ducks' lies...
Although I had already turned off the radio due to STRESS!!!, I'm glad you called in on behalf of us all. We need to be vocal and speak the truth! Just don't follow my lead, at least not this week

- Is there a link to the program you heard?
Was it for all the public radio stations or your state affiliate? Sorry to hear that it was not accurate. Still, it'd be good to hear the audio as they often post links.
I just did a search on NPR and nothing came up since April 2 and that was for dogs. -

Star - you gotta remember that just before med school graduation the words "I do not know but I will find out" are actually removed from docs brain + lips.
Oh ! And their hearts are disconnected too.
Now a very few escape these modifications but I am not sure how.

They said you said find it on www.witf.org. I guess there's a link to the Smart Talk program that you should be able to click on to listen.

It played here in Hbg on FM 89.5 talk radio at 9am. I believe the duck was Dr.S. (ID) from Maryland. Could be wrong but I think that's what I heard.
