Just wondering if any of you have had success resolving difficulty reading with any supps or if this has come in time through ABX (IV or oral or otherwise)
I am a university student and this has been one of my main complaints.
Has Mangosteen helped any of you with this? Or is this something that will only come down the road with continued ABX?
Thanks,
P

- Mangosteen has helped many here. Lots of blueberries are good, too. Tomatoes, etc.
Avoid fried foods as that will adversely affect your eyes within an hour.
Be sure to talk with your instructors and also whoever oversees special arrangements for student help. You may be able to get some accommodations.
I first got very ill in college and I had no clue what hit me. I sure could have used some help. Ask if you need it.
It's not just the eyes but also inner ear involvement that can affect vision. The inner ear (vestibular) system is frequently affected. You may not be able to predict when you can read or not but frequent rests are good.
YOGA for THE EYES, too. (On DVD, exercises and rest protocol). Your eyes need frequent rest periods of darkness. When you feel them getting tired, let them rest.

Notice that not all the visual symptoms are due to the eyes but how the inner ear can influence vision. Inner ear involvement is common for lyme. GINGER CAPSULES, MAGNESIUM, FISH OIL & MANGOSTEEN or other antioxidants help. More in the Ear thread below but be sure to check out this list:

A number of nutrients have been extensively studied for their ability to treat a wide variety of vision-related conditions by preventing the damage caused by free radical activity and by enhancing the delivery of blood and oxygen to the retina to help repair tissues

There is a special lens that helps those with dyslexia - it may also help with lights - and with a variety of color choices, depending on individual choice:
You can also get reading glasses tinted with basic shades of blue or grey at most opticians. Far less expensive and this can help. I prefer a light blue tint.

I could not read a word for many years. Then in 2003 when I had my famous 6 wk hospital stint on IV antibiotics, things changed a lot.
When I got home, one of the first things I noticed was that I could read several paragraphs at once! I no longer needed audio books from the library.
Then gradually I lost that ability. Now after 6 months on Bicillin I can read somewhat. I definitely think there is a relationship between the abx and my comprehension.
BUT my eyesight is terrible. I have to use a magnifying glass even with my strong glasses. And I do think it is related to my lyme disease. I keep my room very dark with blankets tacked over the windows and I rest them often.
I also use special eye drops (prescription) Those eye drops are wonderful in helping reduce my overall pain. If you PM me I will tell you the name of them...I have to go look at the bottle. They are not very expensive.
I agree with Keebler...this stuff is all connected.
