I have had petechiae on my feet and calves for about 4 wks. I kept forgetting to show it to my LLMD. Yesterday, it became raised and itchy (now I am thinking it is because I sat outside in the heat, so don't know if it is actually an add'l rash or just made the petechiae itchy).

So hubby and I decided I should go see my LLMD today about it. She is testing me for lupus and hypercoaguable states, and I can't remember if anything else. I do have FVL, I wonder if I should've reminded her.

Anyway, I am confused why she would check for Lupus. I know petechiae is a symptom of it, but doesn't Lyme cause Lupus like symptoms? Also, I read in the archives that it could be from Babs and she didn't mention that.

I'm, also, confused why she would check for hypercoaguable states, unless she meant PT & PTT's. Because I would think it would have to do more with not coagulating or thinning.

Any ideas?

Liz,

I think it is chlamydia pneumonia. It does the red dots and in the sun they probably die-off, they hate sun.
Read what man other people say on cpnhelp.org.

Take 1,200 vit E and 3-4 omega fishoil for blood thinning.

Minocyclin will help.

Hi Karen,

I will check out the site. Thanks. I do take 3 EPA/DHA a day and I am on aspirin therapy. Plus, a med I take for interstitial cystitis is a blood thinner. I wondered if it was too much blood thinning stuff, but have been told by at least 2 drs. that it isn't.

You know a symptom, say petechiae, can be due to so many causes/illnesses. So, I started looking for some things in my recent history. I took petechiae and looked up a few of my other symptoms and blood work.

I have blood work that suggests chronic kidney disease. (I pray to God that isn't the case. I have my reg. sched. appt. next wk. with my uro.)

I have a couple for lupus and a couple for cpn. I have Lyme and who knows what coinfections. So, I will leave this up to the drs. for now.

My LLMD said to see a derm, I wish I could. I have an appt. with her next month, follow up for skin cancer and that was the only appt. available a month or so ago.

Thanks all.

Liz,

IC is cpn. Read on cpnhelp.org the posts of the people who suffered from IC and got cured.IC goes then to the kidney.

The lupus is because of the infection, please read roadback.org they tell you to treat with antibiotics.

Then the dots will vanish within two weeks. Dermatologist do not learn this. They are not trained in infectious systemic diseaes.
