Our daughters Bart treatment was changed beginning of April..

She started out low and slow on Cipro, symptoms increased...

Her anxiety increased to the point that she is having a hard time dealing with it and other weird head feelings.

Her Dr. told us after being on this 5 weeks to stop. She has MCAS at school this week. We have to call back after testing to see how to procede.

Her last dose was last Thursday night, she still is not feeling well. Very anxious, etc. she missed all of school last week due to feeling bad.

Now this week no meds and still feeling anxious etc. Not sure if feeling worse this week as due to increase in anxiety etc and worrying about taking MCAS as still not feeling better after stopping meds.

She says her head feels slightly better, but at times feels even worse.

Any one have any ideas??? If it was Herx, wouldn't she feel somewhat better from stopping the meds?

Not really if she killed a lot her body may have trouble getting rid of the toxins make sure she drinks plenty of water and maybe she should be taking some probiotics and vitamins plus her immune system since all of the pieces and parts are floating in her from die immune responce may be kicking up and finding more Bb and other infections.

I would still keep a eye on her.
Feeling anxious could be her adrenals she may need to support that too?

Herxs can be bad.

I can only tell you what happened to our daughter when we stopped her bart meds. In her case, it was rifampin. I still don't know really what happened to her.

Her predominant symptom has always been headache. On Rifampin, her head was even worse. Enough time went by that her LLMD thought it wasn't a herx and told us to stop it.

When we stopped it, every day was a little worse than the day before. We ended up taking her to the hospital and when she came out, she was worse than ever. I don't know if it was from being away from her abx that long or her hospital treatment or what.

My theory is that the rifampin was working and she was herxing and then her bart got worse when we stopped it. She did eventually get a little better without treating for bart again. We did a lot of detox, immune support, and more yeast treatment.

I don't have the answer but since our daughter's experience was similar, I thought I would tell you about it.

In my own experience, when I treated for Bartonella, Babesia symptoms would come roaring back including the head stuff.

Just my experience though.
Hope she's feeling better.

My experience with this was very recent. Five weeks ago the Bart abx I had recently started, began to kick some Bart Butt.

The head pressure, headache, anxiety, and depression became so intense I wondered if I was losing my mind. I know that this can happen when you're hitting Bart, but I also thought the head pressure, etc. might be from die-off ammonia toxin build up.

I stopped everything for 3 days and drank lots and lots of lemon water. I ate lots and lots of asparagus (heard it helps liver to detox). Within two days I was feeling much better.

When I started the meds again, I continued the lemon water especially when the pressure got close to noticable. (Actually, this should be written in the present tense.)

The anxiety and depression have subsided (after 4 weeks of it) and I've been feeling better for FOUR WHOLE DAYS than I have felt in quite a while. (Thanking God!!)

So, although the hard part was really hard, detox gave incredible relief and now the good part is really good!

Don't know when it will get hard again, but that's OK. At least every time I get to feel better, it's better than the last better was!

Two steps forward, one step back (and sometimes the other way around)!

Hi There.
My question/comment is for 17hens-
How did you find out about the asparagus helping ? I already do the lemons, and eat garlic whaenever i can. Is there something else out there that I can read that has a list of foods or herbs that help ?
I have Babesia & Lyme & Erlichiosis
Thanks.
