I do think autoimmune is triggered by something. It could be bacterial or viral or some kind of other infection. I have a hard time believing our bodies attack themselves without cause.
I do believe that you can have Lyme and then in the process of your body trying to attack the lyme bacteria, it can also attack itself. This may be one of many reasons we have such a hard time getting well. I think the immune system is definetly affected and may go into some kind of over drive and thus an autoimmune reaction takes place.

The body "attacks itself" because the lyme hides so well.
"Autoimmune" is a BS catch all because so called med pros wouldn't keep looking hard enough to find the true cause.

Massman, so true! Most physicians are way too lazy to look for the real cause.

Hi, Still no diff. than cancer cells which we all have just needs trigger as lyme. Thanks for replies, people really need to think about how we can ban together instead of fight separate many of co type or related illnesses. You know such as FM/ME/MPS/ALS/MS/Parkinson`s which many of us have RLS for of Persons which I said 10 yrs. ago. they use Parkinson`s meds for. AS used for us neuron-tin to try o calmed down our neurotransmitters as many other meds which proves how much messes with our brains. We have lot to work on. Why so much controversy on treatment. Huggggssss, To all in need
