Hey Everyone,

I started taking 100mg of Doxy twice a day on

Friday. I notice about a 1/2 hour after taking

my morning dose, I feel horrible waves of

nausea, stomach pains," a feeling of being out

of it/foggy'', poor concentration, extreme

irritability & annoyed at everything, and more

achy/pains than normal & finally severe fatigue.

When I take my night dose, I still have all of

the same exacerbated symptoms but the nausea

isn't as bad.

I tried having a piece of toast with the Doxy

and still the same this.

For the rest of my day... Its the same symptoms

as always extreme fatigue, nausea, migraines,

poor concentration, aches and pains in my bones

esp. in my hands/fingers, wrists, knees, feet

and neck. Irritable to the point where if

someone looked at me to wrong way, I would feel

like I could just scream & my "blood boils"-

figure of speech. I cannot remember even the

littlest things, such as laundry in the dryer,

to the most important things. Its not so much

forgetfulness its more of I don't remember doing

these things. Daily things.

And now since starting the Doxy, all of the

symptoms are more apparent and noticeable not

only to me but my family.

What do you all thing? Could I be herxing this

early? And ideas?

I learned from here you should always take doxy with food. I eat first then take the doxy because if I take the doxy first even if followed within in seconds by food I still get the upset stomach.

I did it the whole first month without food because that's what it says and the nasuea was terrible and the herxing was 10 times worse.

I'm on my second month and haven't had as many issues since I am not taking it with food. It probably isn't working as well because of the food which is why I'm not herxing as bad but slow and steady wins the race in my opinion. I'm rather it take a bit longer then feel so sick all the time.

I did herxed after the second dose of doxy the first time, that's when my joint pain started and it never stopped. Many people say you can herx almost immediately. Everyone is different.

I would try to take it with food. Also do not lie down until after 30 mins after taking it. There is a risk to your esphogus (Spell?!?!?!). I'm hope someone else will chime in as well.

Hi snownsparkles,

It sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I also tried taking it as it says without food and the same thing happened to me.

I gave up that and it seems that eating with the doxy isn't as hard on my gut and most symptoms.

Take care,
LAXlover

Never take doxy and lay down always stay upright for at least a hour or you feel like your chest is goning to explode i did it by mistake once and paid for 2 or 3 days.
The other feelings are the beginning of herx.

Thanks so much everyone for the advice!

I made the mistake last night of laying down

after my night dose(10:00pm). My chest started

bothering me then I had really bad acid re-flux.

This morning I woke up and had a Nutri-Grain bar

and then took the Doxy. I find it hard to eat in

the morning, but I tried eating something small

and it seemed to help.

How long can a Herx last?
