I have been diagnosed with second stage acute lyme. Before I started treatment, my symptoms were dizziness, lightheaded, heart palpitations, low blood pressure, tingling in feet and hands.
After taking my first week of Doxy, my symptoms got worse. Everyday I am getting rapid heart rate, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, brain fog.
Does anyone know if doxy has these side effects or is it part of herxing?

You are most likely herxing, your symptoms were the same as my daughter before she started her doxy. You are supposed to get worse before you get better. That's a sure sign you have lyme and it is killing it off! Make sure to take Detox baths, they help to get the dieoff out of your system. Good Luck!

I had this for about 6 months after beginning doxy. It was a herx and worth the treatment. I was so much better after taking it for a year. Try to stick with it!
I am on Doxy right now and have no heart symptoms anymore, so it is not a side effect. Be well.

I would say herxing. Where the bacteria are, is where your symptoms will get worse. So because the same places you had problems before is where you're currently getting the worsening... AT LEAST half of the severe Lymies end up in the ER because of the heart symptoms. It's not uncommon at all. Just take it easy, drink a ton of water to help your body flush out all the toxins. It's a necessary evil but rest assured it's getting worse because it will soon be better.

Yep, herxing. But keep an eye on your heart and blood pressure. See a cardiologist if things get bad.

Yes, I had to cut back on the dosage and start slowly. I needed 8 weeks to tolerate the full dosage. I also could see a connection to doxy. It always happened about 3 hours after taking the medicine.
