Okay, I'm relatively sure this is totally unrelated to Lyme and co, but I'm going to ask anyway.
A couple months ago, I noticed something on my big toe, right at the base of the nail. Didn't think anything of it, thought it was the cuticle, so I tried trimming it.
That hurt and it bled like crazy.
The thing grew back again, so again I trimmed it, and again it bled like crazy.
It came back yet again, and I swear it now looks like a twin thing growing there. I'm afraid to cut it again because it's getting bigger, and I'm afraid of doing damage.
It's flesh colored, and it doesn't otherwise hurt, except maybe when I pull a sock on or have a shoe that rubs it.
What the heck could this be? My husband's new work insurance doesn't kick in till next month, so I'm hoping to be able to wait till then to see a doc.

it's called salemanderousis....
It's named for the mechanism whereas; when a salamander gets its tail caught, the tail drops off and it will grow back.... Sure, look it up.
Hope you find answers. Must be disheatening to have it, especially in the summer when we wear sandals, etc.

Thanks, dmc. That actually looks kind of like what it is. Great one more thing to make my doctor think I'm nuts...I'm sure it's all in my head like my lyme, lol.
