The reason he wants me to take these is because of, well, let's just say, "male problems". From the website: "Promotes healthy immune and prostate function". The doctor suggested it will help give me more energy too.
I have read conflicting information about taking Zinc. This Zinc has 20mg of arginine and glycine in it.
So, what's the story with those of us with Lyme taking Zinc? Is this going to muck around with the metals in me and move them where I don't want them to go? For me it tends to go to my brain and eyes when metals move around. I really, really don't like that.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
Gary

Zinc helped me a great deal. It did make me release metals, but that was a good thing. I took binders as I needed them. Now I just take a good fiber.

six,
What would be a good binder to take with zinc? In what way did you feel it helped you?

gwb, it's also instrumental in Dr. K's Kryptopyrolluria protocol.
You do have to watch zinc intake as it competes with iron and I believe copper.
So if your iron is shaky you may have to pay special attention to those levels.
Zinc is good for the immune system.

If you have or had Lyme, you may want to pay attention to the KPU aka HPU. I don't know any Lyme patients who are patients of Dr.K. who do not have the KPU. Zinc is only one of the missing substances.

I do take the full KPU protocol. It seemed to really help me get healthy again. I was substantially better after Germany, but when I started KPU I detoxed first, then felt that I was catching every virus that went around but no one else was. I think it was because I was finally fighting some of the viruses that I had.
Chlorella is good, but I'm allergic to it. I took bentonite clay when I felt I needed a binder. I also took Zeolite. I think each person is different and it's easy to overdo binders. I try to use them only when needed, only when I feel particularly toxic.
I am sure to get enough fiber, I think that's really important. Also to have regular bowel movements, so magnesium, if you tend to be constipated.

The KPU stuff is way over my head. I just want to get some feedback and opinions regarding Metagenics Zinc A.G. (as zinc arginate, glycinate)20.00 mg.
I've got some "male" problems that the doctor feels I will benefit from the zinc, plus he feels it will help me with energy.

Did you get your testosterone levels tested? Or a zinc RBC? There is also a zinc taste test you can try yourself (zinc tally, or thorne sells one too, much cheaper).
You can get zinc glycinate, piccolinate, citrate, etc from anywhere, if the metagenics happens to be high priced.

My testosterone levels are off the charts low. Just started taking testosterone shots this month and will continue to take testosterone shots once a month.
Don't know what a Zinc RBC is.
I'm not really concerned about the price. I've already got the Metagenics here and it cost me 12 dollars. I'm just wondering if there's some reason why I might not want to use zinc or if it could possibly cause my any problems related to moving metals in me, side effects, etc.
Anyone here taking zinc and getting good (or bad) results from it?
