My Doc wants to switch me to Flagyl plus doxy----currently on ceftin plus alinia.

Somewhere, maybe here, maybe elsewhere, I read that flagyl should not be combined with the tetracyclines. Is that true? Any info will be appreciated.

Dr B says that doxy decreases the effectiveness of the flagyl. I have taken flagyl along with doxy and zith or clarith and bactrim all at the same time and I am thinking that Dr B is right,
I am getting better effect with just the clarith,
bactrim, amoxi and flagyl than with the above combination. Not saying flagyl and doxy will not work though, just not quite as well. On the other hand I have noticed that doxy seems to magnify the effect of artemisinin when fighting
Babesia, so I guess it can and does go either way.
