Can Magnesium cause headaches and lightheadedness?

Our daughter has been complaining more so this week, that she feels more lightheaded and has more headaches.

She started supplementing Magnesium SR tabs( magnesium L-lactate dihydrate)( Niche Pharmaceuticals) about a week ago, started with 1/2 tab once a day for few days and been taking one tab ( 84mg for about 5-6 days once a day.

Thanks for any input.

Is that the pharmaceutical type of mag? Some of us cannot take that kind of mag because of fillers and binders, dyes. You can try supps like Pure Encapsulations brand of mag glycinate ( this type does not cause GI issues) because it is pure. Hope that helps.

Bringing this back up.

Yesterday gave our daughter one capsule of the pure encapsulations Mag. Glycinate 120Mg.

Also have to order vit b6.

Today feels lightheaded, nauseous, headache.

Anyone have problems taking magnesium?

We tried another brand back in July and then other problems needed to be addressed so stopped Magnesium.

Thought we would try the Mag again, but the pure encapsulations brand.

Could it be causing her to detox? Any ideas?

Her LLMD does not give any support on supplements just probiotics.

Once again, thanks for any input.

Jane...I am seeing my LLMD today ..I will ask her that question...does she have low BP or heartrate???

I use mine to keep tachycardia away ...just wondering if she has low BP too. I do and need to watch all things I put in my mouth. Dizziness, lightheadedness can be low BP.
